Paula - I've missed seeing you on here. Are you OK? Are you coming for lunch on the 19th May in Coventry? Hope so. I've also read this article but the Daily Mail doesn't exactly fill me with expectations!

This article was also in our local paper ( Northern Echo) but it`s been fairly well-documented up here (in the NE). My specialist nurse was talking about it at my last hospital visit - they`re all quite excited about this.

My son, Ian, completed the BUPA Great North Run on 15th September running for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS). You can read his story at http://www.justgiving.com/ianlukewilson

I don't know if anyone read the readers comments, but one made me smile.

There already is a cure for RA, its called ATOS.

Thank you Jean for asking if I am OK. At the moment I am doing pretty good (fingers crossed, touch wood etc. etc, I hate tempting fate here). Had a blip over Christmas, but I think/hope that it was a combination of doing too much (went over to see daughter and grandchildren) and forgetting several times to take the meds. Had to put them out of reach of the grandkids, so they weren't easily seen and I was out of my normal routine with things. Just been promoted to 2 monthly blood tests (MTX) so they must think at the hospital I'm doing well.

Hopefully I will be able to make it to the Meet Up, but can't say for definite at the moment. Is there a date that you have to know by?

Kathleen............if your RA nurses are getting excited about the drug then there may be some hope for us all yet.
